DAOUST, Yves Joseph
December 25, 1956 - Lachine, Quebec
January 23, 2017 - Strathmore, Alberta
Yves Daoust of Calgary, Alberta, died in a motor vehicle accident near Strathmore, Alberta, on Monday, January 23, 2017 at the age of 60 years. Yves Daoust was born on Christmas Day in 1956 in Lachine, QC. He was a meticulous welder and vessel fitter and was always well-liked and respected by his colleagues at Dominion Bridge, Valmet, Aker Process Systems, Maloney, and Exchanger Industries, and was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local Union 146. Yves moved from Montreal to Calgary in 1999, with a brief return to Montreal in 2010/2011. He loved golfing, playing darts, knocking back a cold beer or three, listening to music, and watching Seinfeld. Yves is survived by his father, Bernard Daoust; sister, Celine; brothers, Jean (Gail-Ann), Bernard, and Daniel; children, Mathieu and Alexandre; stepchildren, Valerie and Zachary Caden-Baptiste; and will be forever missed by Jessica Caden and his family. Yves was predeceased by his mother Rita in 2016. At Yves request, there will be no service. His final wishes were that his remains be spread on a beautiful golf course. A memorial golf game will be planned in the spring to remember his life and fulfil his final wishes. In lieu of flowers or donations, please be kind to a stranger today. "How fragile we are." Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Yves Daoust, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
