MARTHA COUCH Martha Anne Couch, age 85, of Brookfield, Missouri, passed away, Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, Alabama. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Sister Mary Rost, of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, officiating. Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery in Brookfield, Missouri. The family received friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to a family love fund (payable to Patricia Logan), may be left at or mailed to Wright Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628. Martha Anne, daughter of Emmett Patrick and Edna Margaret (Logston) Ellison, was born, July 21, 1937. On May 20, 1976, she married Donald Couch. Martha enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, baking, and working in her garden and flower bed. Martha had a passion for sports and played high school basketball and several years for Sheaffer Pen Company in Ft. Madison, Iowa. She was also a huge fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals and St. Louis Cardinals! Martha was a compassionate and giving person that always made time for others. More than anything, Martha enjoyed the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. She attended Williamstown High School in Williamstown, Missouri and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Brookfield, Missouri. Martha was a fighter and persevered and continued even when the road was hard. She survived cancer twice before losing her third and final battle. Martha is survived by her loving husband, Donald Couch; and two sisters, Marguerite Ventura and Jeanne Westermann. She is also lovingly remembered by her daughter, Patricia Lynn Logan and husband, Charles; son, Gary Wayne "Sag" Gladbach and wife, Rose; grandchildren, Brad and Audra Gladbach, Dana and Joe Allen, Casey and Adam DuBuque, Regina Blake, and Charles and Kayla Logan; nine great-grandchildren, Madigan and Berlin Gladbach, Brooklynn and Denver Allen, Kallaway and Eastyn DuBuque, Logan Blake, and Kenna and Harper Logan; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Edna (Logsdon) Ellison; and siblings, James Ellison, Isabell Dickherber, infant twin sisters, Wayne Ellison, Juana Ellison, Patrick Ellison, Michael Ellison, Stella Abolt, and Isaac Ellison.
