We are so sorry to hear the news about Dan. We are also sorry that we were away this past weekend while Dan was being waked. Dan was certainly a character with a very kind soul. He was a huge lover of people and the most outgoing person we ever met. We will miss him! God bless him and all his family. Lots of Love, Vin and Una

I first met Dan in 1984. Lloyd K from Croton, a co-worker and one of my roommates at the home we were renting in Hermosa Beach, CA, invited him out to stay with us during the 84 LA Olympics. I got the full Cotter experience, including DJ duty for a party there, massages and a haircut in a real barber chair Lloyd had acquired and installed in the living room. In a short time, I realized Cotts was indeed a unique phenomenon. Dan, you will be missed R.I.P.

My sincerest condolences to Amy and the rest of family. I knew Danny in school but got to spend hours with him on trips to and from the airport (almost weekly). Enjoyed those trips quite a bit as my conversations with him were great. A truly nice guy who always saw the best in people and life. He will be missed.

Cotts' generosity crossed generations. As kids, he taught me how to shoot a jump shot correctly, he let me lift weights with him in the basement of Morningside even though my crowd was 4-5 years younger. He was always there for my parents when they needed help from someone locally in an instant. Even when Charlie O passed last August and Dan was ill, he came by to see check on Eileen numerous times. Deepest sympathy to the family

Danny so sorry...we didnt keep in touch over the years my hearts is full of great memories we've had in the pizzeria on Tremont... All those talks and lessons on life and what's it all about?.... My heart hurts that I didn't say goodbye and keep you updated on things...one day my old friend when it's all said and done for me...we will sit down in that pizzeria in the sky and talk like it was then.... No finer man have I ever known nor better friend will I ever have. The world lost, and heaven gained, the most down to earth and genuine person any of us will ever know. He will never be forgotten. God Bless and Godspeed.
