Ellen Peske Obituary
Ellen passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 8, 2012. She had a full, vibrant and adventurous life. Ellen was born on July 10, 1916 in what was then called Austro-Hungarian Empire which is now known as Slovakia.
Ellen Harhovsky found the love of her life and was married to Milan Peske for 70 years prior to his death in 2010. Ellen lived in Czechoslovakia for 34 years, Ethiopia for 12 years and the remaining 50 years she resided in Croton-on-Hudson, NY.
She is best known for placing family first, and her love of animals and nature. Ellen's family loved sitting around her and listening to her amazing life experiences. Her favorite saying was "enjoy life" and will remain with her family forever.
Ellen Peske is survived by her two children, Dagmar (Don) Simons, and Ivo (Joan) Peske. Grandchildren are: Dagmar (Richard) Mickelsen, John (Carmela) Simons, Dominique Simons, Richard (Deborah) Simons, Judy (Fred) Brandt, Eric Peske, Kevin (Jennifer) Peske, Sandra (Joseph) Bogdan, Christopher (Sharonn Itliong) Peske and Jeffrey (Marisa) Peske. Great-grandchildren are: Kristina, Deanna, Trinity, James, and Sarah Mickelsen; Daniel, Phillip, Christopher and Michael Simons; Jason and Jesse Douglas; Danielle and Timothy Brandt; Brad and Erin Peske; Alex and Kyle Peske; and Allison Bogdan.
Friends may visit at Holy Name of Mary Church, 110 Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson, NY 10520, April 14th at 10:30AM to 12 Noon, concluding with a Memorial Mass at 12 Noon. The family appreciates your kind thoughts, prayers and memories of Ellen.
