Gertrude Tanzer Obituary

Gertrude Margaret Tanzer

White Plains - Gertrude Margaret Tanzer (95) of White Plains, NY, passed peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Wednesday April 22, 2020. She was the loving wife of the late Frank A. Tanzer (1999). Gertrude was born in 1925 in White Plains, NY, she was the daughter of Fredrick and Frieda Horn, and Brother of Ernest Horn (2007). Gertrude (Gertie) worked in the First National Bank on Wall Street, NYC. While raising her children, she worked for the Greenburgh Central School District (at Juniper Hill School) as a teacher assistant. After retirement, Gertie and Frank Tanzer relocated to Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Gertie enjoyed embroidery, needle point, and watching her grandchildren. Gertrude leaves her daughter Susan Swaby, her son in law Edward Swaby, her son Robert Tanzer, and four grandchildren (Michael, Jonathan, Colton and Melody and her spouse Jameel). We are extremely grateful for the aides that provided for her continually. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2020 at 11;00 am at Rural Cemetery, White Plains, NY. In Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory to her to the American Diabetes Association.
