IRMA LANG Obituary

Died October 21, 2002 at her home in Brewster. She was 95 years old. Mrs. Lang was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 28, 1907 to Louis & Katherine (Fleischmann) Kress. She attended school in Queens and furthered her education at the McCready School of Business in Manhattan. Mrs. Lang married George I. Lang Sr. on March 9, 1929 in Glendale, NY. She was a past president of the Women's Club of Jamaica Estates and a Bookkeeper at the Queens County Chapin Home for the Aging. Mrs. Lang had moved to Brewster in 1969 where she became an active member and officer of the Brewster Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Lang is survived by a son, George I. Lang Jr., and wife Marie of Temple Terrace, FL. She has 2 grandchildren, Pamela Eccles and husband Dan of Manhassett Hills, L.I. and Kathryn Boik and husband Bill of Springfield, VA. Besides her husband, Irma was pre-deceased by her son Richard L. Lang and her two sisters, Charlotte Hoerrner and Martha Pool. Mrs. Lang's final wishes were to have a service at Beecher Funeral Home on Friday, October 25, 2002 at 11 am. Friends may call at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster on Thursday the 24th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Brewster Presbyterian Church will incorporate a memorial to Irma during the Sunday Service. Contributions may be made in Irma's name to Hospice Care in Westchester & Putnam Inc, 100 South Bedford Road, Mt. Kisco, NY, 10549 or The Brewster Presbyterian Church, 110 Main Street, Brewster, NY, 10509.
