Larry DiTuri Obituary
Larry (Lazlo, Detour) DiTuri of West Nyack, NY, 42, passed away on November 2, 2013. He is survived by his loving parents Wanda and Larry, his wife Debra, and his sons Lorenzo and Nicholas. He is also survived by his sister Laurell, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and six nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Frank. Larry was a Jack of all trades, pursuing knowledge in all that interested him. He was a certified Mercedes Benz Elite Technician, a beloved Tennis Pro, a commercial truck driver, a humanitarian, a dog lover and a food critic. He was a member of the Desmo Ducati Riding Club, and a Ducati enthusiast. Larry had an infectious smile, and a kind and generous heart. He gave the best bear hugs, and was proficient at imitating monkeys, tigers, vampires and giants. He believed in tickle torture, pre-bedtime wrestling sessions, and the Hungry Caterpillar. He was loved profoundly and will be deeply missed. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 at Higgins Funeral Home in New City. A Mass will be held on Thursday, 10am at St. Francis Church, West Nyack. "Yeah, you were there". In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Larry's name to the Eleventh Hour Rescue, P.O. Box 218, Rockaway, NJ 07866.

To Larry's family,
To know Larry was to love him. We would live in such a better world if people gave as much of themselves as he did. He listened to people and continuously found ways to better himself. I am honored to have known such a warm compassionate man. May his presence live on in all of us. May all of the fun, his smile and who he was live on in his family. He inspired me and many of us who knew him to give joy to others. My deepest condolences to all of the Dituri family.

I was so sorry to hear about Larry's passing. I knew him and hung out with him as a child living in the same neighborhood. Always in a great mood and knew how to make people laugh. My brothers and I will deeply miss him. My prayers are with the Dituri family.

I was so fortunate to work with Larry at CourtSense during two different times. While I was gone, Larry and I kept in touch. We had so much in common. Twins, Music, Tennis...etc. He was a great man with a Huge Heart. My thoughts and Prayers are with the family and everyone who knew him. Larry truly was and is, a positive influence on everyone. I was fortunate to have known Larry through his work as a dedicated tennis professional. His warm heart and kind spirit were undeniable. My young kids, who also spent much time with him on the tennis court, are as devastated as I am by the loss of his genuine and free-spirited soul.

Larry was such a kind and thoughtful person. I will always remember how he stopped by with Christmas cookies when he first moved to the neighborhood. And how he played ball the the kids on our front lawn and gave my son tips to help improve his pitching. We would see him working on something in the driveway like his bike, a car and his mower or walking the dogs every night. I will especially remember how he played in the yard with his boys with a smile on his face. He had such a wonderful spirit and it will be missed. We hope the loving memories you have of him will see you through these next few months.
