Shirley Durlach Obituary
New City - Shirley Durlach joined her loving husband Hugh Durlach August 7, 2018 in the great mystery that follows life. She was 90 years old.
Shirley was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY to Rose and Harry, earned a B.S. degree in dental hygiene from Columbia University, and married her true love in 1949. Moving to New City in 1956, she continued her career working for the Nanuet School system while raising three daughters— Karen, Teri, and Paula.
She was active with the New City Garden Club and volunteered in the Nyack Hospital Thrift Shop for many, many years. She had a passion for puzzles and enjoyed playing cards at the Rockland Bridge Center with many beloved friends.
Most recently she made new friends while living in the "Sunrise of New City" community.
Shirley will be buried at Sharon Gardens, Valhalla, NY in a family ceremony. Donations may be made in her name to Nyack Hospital or the charity of your choice.
