Sr. Lorenzo Obituary
Mt. Vernon - Sr. Loretta Marie Lorenzo, 88, died on September 12, 2018. She was born on February 17, 1930 to Pasquale and Catherine DiNapoli Lorenzo in Brooklyn, NY. She was the youngest of large family all of whom have predeceased her. Sr. Loretta entered Sisters of St. Francis, Hastings-on-Hudson, January 11, 1948. Her reception day was July 14, 1948, her first profession July 14, 1950 and her final vows July 14, 1953.
She was an Educator with the Mission of the Immaculate Virgin, Staten Island from 1950-52 and 1956-59. She was a child care staff member from 1966-79. She was a Nursery School teacher at Nazareth Day Nursery, NYC from 1953-56 and 1959-1966. She was a teacher multiple handicapped children at the St. Agnes Hospital Children's Unit from 1979-80. She was the Director of Religious Education at St. Patrick Parish, Carlisle, PA. from 1983-84. From 1984-2011 Sister ministered in various areas in lower Westchester County. Her major ministry was the Hope Soup Kitchen in New Rochelle from 1984-2011, when she retired to Meadowview Assisted Living Campus at Wartburg, Mt. Vernon, NY.
Visitation, Thursday, September 20, 2018, 9-10 at the chapel at The Wartburg. Mass, Thursday September 20, 2018 at 10:00 am at The Wartburg Home Chapel, Mount Vernon. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. To sign our online guestbook visit www.westchesterfuneralhome.com.

Sr. Loretta was a blessing to me and my family. She helped me on me on my spiritual journey. She was a kind soul with a great sense of humor. You touched so many lives and now you have been given your reward to be in heaven with The Father, Jesus and Mary. May you rest in peace.
