David Smallwood Obituary
Among those who preceded him in death include his parents and a sister, Doris Austin.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 62 years, Mary Lou Morrison Smallwood; sons, David L. Jr. (Sandra), Michael S. (Diane) and Ross P. Smallwood: sister, Deloris Lind: brother, Donald Smallwood (Barbara); nine grandchildren, Kent, Damian, Kimberly, Matthew, Sean, Derrick, Kyle, Mitchell and Alexandria; seven great-grandchildren; a host of other family and friends.
Mr. Smallwood, owner/operator of Ken-Mulch Inc., salesman for Lose Bros. for 50 years, and a Kentucky Colonel, was past president, secretary/ treasurer of Iroquois Kiwanis Club and cofounder of local Kiwanis Clubs - Okolona, South Louisville, Shepherdsville and Shelbyville, cofounder of the Tennessee Walking Horse Jubilee, a member of the Kentucky Nurseryman's Association, Louisville Nurseryman's Association and Southern Nurseryman's Association, Better Business Bureau, Eastern Kentucky University Advisory Committee and a Key Club sponsor for Southern High School. David was chairman of the 75th Anniversary meeting and trade show of the Southern Nurserymen's Association in Atlanta, GA.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects 11a.m.- 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday; and after 10 a.m. Thursday at Schoppenhorst.

Mrs. Smallwood and Family,
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy in the loss of your husband. You may not remember me, but I used to live down the street from you on Locust Way many years ago and was blessed to sometimes babysit for your sweet boys. You were always so kind to me.
May God give you comfort and peace. You're in my prayers during this very difficult time.
