Richard Reynolds Obituary

Richard G. Reynolds, Sr. Richard George Reynolds, Sr., age 68, of 21331 Gospel Hill Road, Venango, PA died from an accidental fall occurring in his home on Monday, September 4, 2006. Born on January 20, 1938 in Edinboro, Pa., he was a son of the late George Reynolds and Laura Baker Reynolds. He lived all of his life in the Cambridge Springs and Edinboro areas. A graduate of General McLane High School in 1956, he was a school bus driver for the General McLane School District for over 30 years and was presently driving school bus for the Fort LeBoeuf School District. He also was a general farmer specializing in swine. He was a life member of the Cambridge Springs Volunteer Fire Department; a charter member of Cambridge Area Volunteer Ambulance Service with 20 years of service and presently was a member of the Venango Volunteer Fire Department. Richard enjoyed conversing with people, particularly while having breakfast with his many friends and while spending time at auctions. Family members surviving him include his loving companion of 26 years, Sharon Wright Teed; seven sons, Raymond Reynolds and his wife, Valerie of Yelm, Wash., James Reynolds and his wife, Victoria of Richland, Texas, Robert Reynolds and his companion, Katrina of Meadville, Vance Reynolds and his companion, Lori of Meadville, Richard Reynolds, Jr. and his wife, Brenda of Meadville, Thomas Reynolds and his wife, Sophie of Meadville, Russell Reynolds and his wife, Teresa of Saegertown; a daughter, Joanne Crisman and her husband, Lloyd of Sumter, S.C.; step children, David Teed and his companion, Dee of Venango, Kimberly Teed of Venango, Steven Teed and his wife, Tess of Brementon, Wash. and Valerie Reynolds, listed as the wife of the oldest son, Raymond Reynolds. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a brother, Neil Reynolds and his wife, Renee of Waterford. Preceding in death in addition to his parents was a grandson, Rodney Maida and a sister, Kathryn Cowely. Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs Thursday evening from 7-9 and on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 with Reverend Larry Corner, pastor of Venango United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in St. James Cemetery, Crossingville.
