DRACUT, MA - Henry "Chicken" Potvin, 87, died peacefully, Thursday, May 24th, at D'Youville Senior Care Center in Lowell. He was the loving husband of Dorothy (Schiripo) Potvin, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.

Henry was born in Lowell on August 14, 1930 and was the son of the late William and Florida (St. Lawrence) Potvin. He was a graduate of the Lowell Trade School and was a member of the National Guard for eighteen years. He spent his years as a mechanic for the Dracut Highway Department in which he retired from.

He had a passion for building motors and racing at Hudson Speedway. He also enjoyed many trips to Foxwoods with his wife and his one roll of quarters. Above all, he relished the time he spent with his family and friends. You could always catch him in the car, with a map on a road trip. He kept people laughing with his quick wit and practical jokes. Words can not express the joy he spread around him.

He is survived by his two daughters, Dale Rowe of Dracut and Linda Porter and her husband, Stephan of Seabrook, NH; five grandchildren, David Rowe and his wife Nicole of Dracut; Daniel Rowe of Dracut; Deanna Jones and her husband, AJ of Portsmouth, VA; Julie and Amanda Porter of Seabrook, NH; four great-grandchildren, Jadeyn, Samantha, Jaeliyah and Davien; one brother, Edward Potvin and his wife, Cecile of Lowell; and a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Potvin of Derry, NH.

He was predeceased by his son, Mark Henry Potvin, who passed March 19, 2015. As well as, his siblings, Florida Ablacinski and Wilfred and William Potvin.

POTVIN - Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, May 29th, from 5 - 8 pm, at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut, MA. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 30th, in the funeral home at 12 Noon. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Dracut.
