Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend
WESTFORD -- Martha (Janovsky) Huber, 93, formerly of Virginia and Illinois, died Friday, August 30, 2013 at her Westford home. She was the beloved wife for 68 years of the late Glen H. Huber who died in 2007. They were married in 1939 in Sacred Heart Church in Chicago, Illinois.
Born in Joliet, Illinois on May 1, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Suca) Janovsky. She attended parochial schools in Joliet and graduated from Joliet High School.
Mrs. Huber lived in Chicago and Downers Grove, Illinois, Edison, New Jersey, Blacksburg, Virginia and Ocala, Florida. From 1989 until 2009, she lived in Bristol, Virginia where she was a Communicant and active volunteer at St. Anne's Church. She was also active in many charitable activities, including Meals on Wheels and Bristol's food pantry.
A resident of Westford since 2009, she was a Communicant of St. Irene's Church in Carlisle and was a member of the St. Joseph Prayer Group in Lowell. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and was an avid reader. She also was an amazing cook and seamstress. She loved learning new things, and enjoyed travelling with her husband and family through North America and Europe.
She was the loving mother of Roberta Gail Sitkoski and her husband Joseph of Downers Grove, Illinois, Mary Ellen Bakken and her husband David of Westford, and Gregg Michael Huber of Post Mills, Vermont. She was the loving grandmother of Robert Joseph Sitkoski and Jane Marie Sitkoski of Downers Grove, Illinois, Leanne Teresa DiGuglielmo and her husband Jonathan of Columbia, Maryland and Benjamin Michael Bakken of Westford. She was the sister of the late Louise Archey, Frank Janovsky, Agnes Pucek and Dorothy Winters.
HUBER -- of Westford, formerly of Virginia and Illinois, Martha (Janovsky) Huber, 93, died Friday, August 30, 2013 in Westford. Funeral will be held on Friday, September 6th from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center at 9:30 AM, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Irene's Church, Carlisle at 11 AM. Private burial in St. Anne's Cemetery, Bristol, Virginia. Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home will be held on Thursday, September 5th from 4 to 6:30 PM.
