Warren Austin Obituary

TEWKSBURY -- Warren Philip Austin, 90, a Tewksbury resident who worked at Raytheon Co. for more than a decade, died Monday, Jan. 2, at the D'Youville Senior Care Center in Lowell. He was the husband of Florence G. (Chase) Austin, with whom he celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on Sept. 5, 2005.

He was born in Lowell, Nov. 3, 1915, son of the late Philip A. and Jane (Wilson) Austin. He was raised in Lowell and attended Lowell schools and graduated from Lowell High School in 1934.

He resided in Tewksbury for the past 45 years.

Following graduation, Mr. Austin worked as a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps.

Mr. Austin previously attended the Elliot Presbyterian Church of Lowell.

Before retiring in 1969, Mr. Austin was a plastic technician for 15 years at Raytheon Co. of Lowell. Previously, he worked for the Boott Mills in Lowell.

He enjoyed vegetable gardening and spending time with his family.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Gail R. Austin of Tewksbury; two sons and daughters-in-law, Warren P. Austin, Jr. and Mary Jo Austin of Laconia, N.H., and David L. and Linda Austin of Tewksbury; a sister, Dorothy Ducharme of Tewksbury; five grandchildren, David K. Austin and his wife, Suzanne of Gilford, N.H., John R. Austin and his wife, Caitlin Osborne of State College, Pa., Laura A. Trendel and her husband, Greg of Sutton, Randall L. Austin of Waltham, and Scott D. Austin and his wife, Michelle of Chelmsford; six great-grandchildren, Robin Austin, Katherine Austin, Nicholas Austin, J. Patrick Osborne, Marin Trendel and Jake Austin; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also the brother of the late Elliot Austin and Lillian Stanulonis.
