Winona Cissna Obituary

DECATUR - Winona Francis "Nona" Cissna, 74, of Phoenix, Ariz., passed away Monday (Feb. 8, 2010). Graveside memorial services will be Saturday, April 17, in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown. Memorials: Peoples Church of God Tree of Life. Nona was born April 17, 1935, in Chicago, the daughter of George William and Margaret Catherine Batson Gambrel. She retired after 33 years at Caterpillar Inc., Decatur. She married Charles D. Cissna on June 27, 1959. Surviving are her husband; sister, Susie (Augie) Lopez of Crescent City, Calif.; brother, Fred Gambrel of Kent, Wash.; son, David (Donna) Cissna of Anthem, Ariz.; granddaughter, Allison Cissna of Anthem; stepdaughter, Connie (Larry) Moon of Shelbyville; stepsons, Bill (Connie) Cissna of Horse Cave, Ky.; Bob (Paula) Cissna of Eustis, Fla.; Tom Cissna of Nappanee, Ind. Chuck, there is a beautiful new voice in heaven's angel choir. What memories we enjoy of the years of fun, fellowship & music at Peoples church in Decatur! Chuck, I am sorry to hear of Nona's death. We all had some great times at People Church of God and how I remember Nona's laugh and beautiful voice. She sang with such expression. Please know that you are in my prayers. God bless.
