Janet Lee (Morrisroe) White, 59, of Valparaiso, Indiana, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024, after a battle with cancer.
She was born Feb. 19, 1965, in Valparaiso, Indiana, to the late Robert and Margaret (Shelley) Morrisroe. She was raised in Michigan City, Indiana, and a proud Rogers High School graduate of 1983. She met the love of her life, Phillip White, in high school. They married on Nov. 21, 1987, in Michigan City, Indiana.
Surviving is her husband of 36 years, Phil of Valparaiso, Indiana; daughter, Hannah (Matthew) White-Vilga of Valparaiso, Indiana; son, Sean White of Valparaiso, Indiana; brother, Timothy (Eva) Morrisroe of Michigan City, Indiana; mother-in-law, Janice White of Michigan City, Indiana; numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Robert & Margaret Morrisroe; father-in-law, John S. White; and brother-in-law, John E. White.
Janet completed her B.S. at Elmhurst College. She completed her real estate licensing in 2015 and most recently, was affiliated with @properties in Valparaiso. Janet and Phil have been parishioners of St. Teresa of Avila in Valparaiso, Indiana, since 2007.
Janet loved to travel and having her toes in a sandy beach with a cocktail in hand. She enjoyed swimming and the warm weather. She loved hosting and cooking for her family and friends. She had a zest for life and her laughter was infectious to everyone around her. She was so proud of her kids and loved her life with Phil.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am, Friday, May 3, 2024, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Student Center, 1511 LaPorte Ave., Valparaiso, Indiana, with Rev. Jacob McDaniel officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the student center. Burial will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024, in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, 1015 Greenwood Ave., Michigan City, Indiana.
