James Chippoletti Obituary

James S. Chippoletti, 75, of Las Vegas, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2005. He was born Nov. 25, 1929, in Frankfurt, N.Y. Jim was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. After moving to Las Vegas in 1963 he became a hairdresser working in many of the hotels for 17 years. After leaving the hair industry he became a dealer at the El Cortez. "Chip" as he was known eventually became a shift boss and retired from the El Cortez after 16 years. He was well known and loved. He was preceded in death by his father, Salvatore; mother, Frances; and his beautiful wife, June, with whom he was married to for over 50 years. Jim is survived by his stepmother, Lucy; two stepsisters, Delores and Kathy, all from New York; daughter, Lynda Chippoletti; son, Bernie Chippoletti; daughter-in-law, Beverly Chippoletti; four grandchildren, James, Angelina, Casey and Jesse; and one great-grandson, Jordan, all of Las Vegas. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 16. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 17, both at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice.
