I used to work with Joe for a number of years at LVVWD. He was a great guy and a good conversationalist! I still remember all his recommendations about food and BBQ. I just stumbled upon this, 4 years late; so sorry to find this out! Condolences to his family and loved ones.

Heartbroken. Joe and I were good friends going to school at DeVry. We were lab partners, graduating at the same time. My deepest sympathy and condolences to his family. I am truly sorry to hear this. Joe, thank you for being a friend to this country boy.

While I never had the privilege of knowing Joe in person, we were both members of a Facebook group and it always touched me how Joe had a kind response for everyone. It's a sad thing that I didn't get a chance to know him better. My condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.

I came to know Joe through The Rant FB page and it was an honor have met him there. He was always uplifting in his comments and supportive of such worthy causes. His humor, kindness, and humantiy always - always - shone through. I am sure that his passing is a great loss to the family but I hope it helps to know that Joe reached out and touched so many people with the wise and caring positions that he believed in. My sincere condolences to all of Joe's family and close friends.

I was a Facebook member of a political page with Joe and racked my brain for quotes of his or something I wrote that he liked then was too inept to find those instances. So I just want to say God bless him and his family and friends he left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life. He was a contribution to mine by seeking and speaking his truth. May he really rest in peace.

Joe was such a beautiful person. He was always upbeat and supportive of his friends, adored his children & was so proud of their achievements. They were probably the greatest joys of his life, and yet he made life a little more beautiful for his friends. His every deed and thought has been a blessing in our world. I only knew Joe for a little while..friends on the Rant. He was always there to back me up on our progressive viewpoints. He joined in on serious and silly discussions. One of the first guys to join my Pay it Forward post...gonna miss you, buddy...

My condolences to Joe's family, he was a wonderful guy. I will always remember the pranks he would pull, from senior ski trip to streaking the cafeteria on the last day of school(his beard stuck out below the ski mask). My deepest sympathies and condolences to Joe's family and friends. Joe was always a bright spot - warm and encouraging, funny and joyful - in his on line posts - and I felt a special kindred to him (both being Devry Alumni - as he would point out at every opportunity) - I will miss him greatly - and try to carry on some of the spirit he instilled in others. He almost always started a post with "Yeah, Leo!" or to whomever he was addressing - positive and encouraging. May we all hope to affect others in the manner Joe did.

I had never met Joe in person even thought We lived in the same city. I knew Him from Facebook. When I posted links to news stories etc, Joe would like it and share it. I would do the same with His. He was a great person. I will never forget Him and His contributions to Facebook. He was a good guy. RIP Joe. Godspeed.

I previously tried to submit a comment, but it is not showing up, so trying again. I want to express my deepest condolences and sympathy to Joe's family. I came to know Joe through facebook, and appreciated his kind, thoughtful, intelligent posts and comments. His integrity, wisdom and sense of humor came through in his writing, and I will miss his always positive and uplifting attitude. His pride in his kids, his love of his family, his patriotism and astute political observations- all will be sorely missed by those of us who knew him mainly through facebook. I am so saddened by the loss of this dear man.

Joe had that special gift for making folks feel good. I have enjoyed keeping in touch with my old high school friend on Facebook and always looked forward tô seeing his posts.
