June 20, 1930 - May 25, 2016
Fayetteville, GA- Funeral Services for Frances Scarborough Powers, 85, formerly of Cochran, Georgia who died Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at her home, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2016, in the chapel of Fisher Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Born in Dodge County, the daughter of the late James Hollis and Edna Cheek Scarborough and the widow of David Powers, Jr. She had lived in Fayetteville for the last 15 years. She attended St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in Savannah and graduated from Macon Hospital School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse working at Taylor Memorial Hospital and Spring Valley Nursing Home of Jeffersonville and retired from Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church of Cochran.
Survivors include her daughters, Janet (Guppy) Gupton of Franklin, NC and Gayle (Bill) Elsholz of Fayetteville, GA; and grandchildren, Dr. Raina Gupton of Newfane, VT, and Spencer Elsholz and Judson Elsholz, both of Fayetteville, GA.
The family will meet friends following the service in the chapel.
