Willis Carter Obituary

Willis Carter -DANVILLE - Willis Carter, 75, of Route One, died Saturday, April 27, 2002 in Dublin. Services will be held at 4P.M. Tuesday, April 30, 2002 in Mount Zion Baptist Church in Twiggs County. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Elder Franklin Bryant will officiate. -Mr. Carter, a native of Twiggs County, lived in Macon before returning to Danville. He was the son of the late Dudley and Alice Fowler Carter. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base. Mr. Carter was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in WWII. He was a life time member of the VFW and the DAV, where he devoted over 1000 hours of volunteer work. He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. -Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Janice and Bennie Warren, Dublin; son and daughter-in-law: Waylon and Karen Carter, Cochran, one sister: Laverne C. Joiner, Danville; three grandchildren: Scott Tribble, Dublin, Ben Warren, Dexter, and Brooke Carter, Cochran; three great-grandchildren: Zachary Tribble, Greer, SC, Blade Warren, Dexter and T.J. Holt, Dexter; one niece: Saundra McDaniel, Danville. -The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00P.M. Monday in the funeral home. -Reece Funeral Home in Jeffersonville has charge of arrangements.
