Velez, Benjamin "Ben"
MADISON - Benjamin "Ben" Velez, of Madison, Wis., found peace on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021, at the age of 38.
Ben is survived by his beloved 7-year-old son, Henry (mother Holly DeGroot). He is further survived by his father, Efrain Velez of Puerto Rico; mother, Elaine Velez (nee Born); brother, Frank Velez of Madison; and aunts, uncles and cousins throughout the United States. Private services held by the family.
Ben spent most of his life working in the restaurant business as a manager and was a good cook in his own right. Henry was the love of his life, and the two of them spent hours hunting Pokemon throughout the Madison area. Other activities the two enjoyed were playing arcade games, paintballing, and visiting the dinosaur museum. They spent hours reading books together, and Dad would let Henry stay up late (9 p.m.) to watch a movie before bedtime.
Ben will be sorely missed by his many friends throughout the community.
Cremation services are pending.
