Betty Ann (nee Huber) Heim
Oct. 28, 1934 - Nov. 13, 2023
OCONOMOWOC - Betty Ann (nee Huber) Heim passed away peacefully on November 13, 2023, surrounded by her children. She was 89.
She was born in Milwaukee on October 28, 1934, the daughter of John V. and Elizabeth Huber. Betty attended grade school at St. Jerome's in Oconomowoc and graduated from Milwaukee Pius. On September 3, 1955, she married, Ray Heim, the boy next door, and enjoyed over sixty-six years of various adventures together.
Most of her fondest memories revolved around her family and friends. She loved family gatherings, travel, the neighborhood get-togethers, camping trips, and time spent with grand-children. In addition, she enjoyed wood-working, knitting, playing bridge and crafting. Betty was a great homemaker providing great meals, canning, and sewing.
Betty was a woman of strong faith, an active member of the Catholic church. She lived her faith through her Christian actions and ministries, and was a great role model to her family and friends. As a stay-at-home mother and daycare provider, she nurtured many children.
Betty is survived by her children: Paul (Julie), Barb (Dan) Anderson, Dave (Rebecca), Karen (Steve) Myers-Bonander, and Chris (Charlie) Hampton. She has 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren (with one on the way), and numerous nieces and nephews. Further survived by daughter-in-law, Cindy Heim. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; son, Mike; grandson, Adam Hampton; and her brothers: Carl and Hans.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 120 Nashotah Rd., Nashotah, WI, 53058. The Requiem Mass, is at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Delafield Cemetery followed by a reception.

Teri and I have been friends of Betty and Ray since the late 50's. Teri baby sat for at least some of their kids when she was in High School, and Ray was my track and football coach in Jefferson. When IBM moved us back to the Milwaukee area we kept in close contact with Ray & Betty. On occasion we'd go out for breakfast or a fish fry, but the thing they both enjoyed most is when we'd stop over to play Euchre. Even as the dementia started to creep in, Betty played a good game. When in the area we'd go to the 7:30 AM mass at St. Joan or Arc, and share coffee and doughnuts with them after mass. We will miss them both

One of my favorite memories was Aunt Betty creating a Monarch habitat in her dining room. Netting was used to cover large branches. The search for larvae and the menu of milkweed. We enjoyed the whole process from cocoon to frail but fragile butterflies! So beautiful as she set them free!
