Kathleen Theresa Randall Frisch

CROSS PLAINS - Kathleen Theresa Randall Frisch, age 85, of Cross Plains, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at SSM Health-St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on June 8, 1940, in Madison, WI., the daughter of Walter Edward and Gladys Mae (Newberry) Randall.
Kathleen attended Washington Grade School and graduated from St. Raphael Grade School in 1954, graduated from Edgewood High School in 1958, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in sociology with a major in correctional administration. Kathleen was employed as a Social Worker with the Dane County Human Services in 1963 and fulfilled a lifelong goal by joining the Madison Police Department on September 23 of that same year, following in the footsteps of her father, Captain Walter Randall. Kathleen retired from the Madison Police Department as a Detective Supervisor in the Sensitive Crime Unit on January 7, 1994, after 31 years of dedicated service. Kathleen taught part-time at MATC in the two-year Police Science Program and the Police Recruit Academy through December 2000.
On May 24, 1969, she married the love of her life Daniel Ralph Frisch in Madison, WI. Together, Daniel and Kathleen were blessed with and raised two sons, Patrick and Brian who followed in their mother's footsteps and established lengthy careers in law enforcement.
Kathleen was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church since 1969. She was a Eucharistic Minister and member of the Parish Council. Kathleen also volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary's Hospital.
Kathleen was a former President of Altrusa, a women's service organization, and former President of the Wisconsin Association of Women Police. She was also a volunteer and the former secretary of the Friends of Mirror Lake State Park Association.
Kathleen enjoyed attending church, traveling, camping, visiting supper clubs, spending time with her family and making memories with her special Edgewood friends, Sue Koehler, Madeline McCormick and Jeanne Hubel.
Kathleen is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Daniel Ralph Frisch; sons, Patrick (Margit) Frisch and Brian (Stacie) Frisch; granddaughters, Ahnika, Payton and Jocelyn Frisch; grandsons, Sawyer, Jackson and Matthew Frisch; sisters, Jean (Chris) Ripp and Judy (Jerry) Frisch; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, LaVonne Kadrmas, Rosie Frisch and Micheal (Patricia) Frisch; and special friends, David and Jan Primus; as well as other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Gladys Randall; her brother, Michael Randall; her brothers-in-law; Edward, Donald, Marvin, and David Frisch and Raymond Kadrmas; her sister-in-law, Alice Frisch; her aunt and uncle and God parents, John B. Randall and Clara Faust Randall; her grandparents, Burnett and Mary Jane Randall and Rose and Harry Newberry; and her friend and coworker, Dorothy Standridge.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains, at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025. Burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Friday. A luncheon will follow the Mass.
