James LeRoy Grant

HEYBURN – James LeRoy Grant, age 87, of Heyburn, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Minidoka Memorial Hospital in Rupert.

He was born in Twin Falls, Idaho. James graduated from Burley High School and then joined the Navy and served his country for four years.

A few years later he met and married Mildred Robbins. They moved to Boise for a short time and then moved back to Heyburn. James and Mildred had three sons, Steven, Bryan, and Craig, and were married for 61 years.

James worked for J.R. Simplot for 20 years and then retired. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, mowing lawns, and most of all enjoyed wintering in Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Naomi "Billie" Grant; and his maternal grandparents, Horace and Ethel Worley.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Grant, of Heyburn; his three sons: Steven Grant, of Heyburn, Bryan Grant, of Paul, and Craig Grant, of Heyburn; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three brothers: Charles Grant, of Nampa, Gene Phillips, of Rupert, Robert Grant, of Boise; and one sister, Helen Arnzen, of Georgia.

At his request no formal service will be held.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.
