Madeline M. McGregor

Madeline M. McGregor age 88 of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Monday Nov. 13, 2023 at her residence, She was born on Dec. 21, 1934 in Warren, OH the daughter of the late John Bernard Carey and Rose Josephine (Wagner) Carey. Madeline had lived in Newton Falls since 1956. formerly of Leavittsburg where she graduated from Leavittsburg High School in the Class of 1952. She married the love of her life, Kenneth E. McGregor on July 14, 1956, and they have enjoyed 66 years of marriage together until he passed away on Sept. 7, 2022. Madeline worked as a school secretary at Leavittsburg High School for 10 years, and then at General Motors Lordstown as a Salary Payroll Clerk for 25 years before retiring in 1988. She enjoyed needlepoint embroidery, gardening, flowers, and baking Christmas cookies. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth, 3 brothers: Eugene, John, & Joseph Carey, 1 sister Roselyn Botts, and a grandson Ryan Grunder. She is survived by: 1 daughter: Linda Grunder of Newton Falls, 1 son: Donald McGregor & his fiancé Paula Snyder of Newton Falls; 1 sister Violet Greenwalt of Warren; 6 grandchildren: David & Sally McGregor, Jason & Ally McGregor, Sasha McGregor, Kelsey McGregor & her companion Brandon Holloway, Robin & Dan McLaughlin, Rachel & Anthony Mattozzi; 11 great grandchildren: Thea, Daniel, Courtney, Logan, Paige, Wyatt, Dylan, Landon, Ella,Jacob, Kendrick, and one is on the way in January 2024 Layla, and 1 great-great grandson: Waylon. The family would like to thank Cassie & Liz from Southern Care Hospice for 3 wonderful years of care. A special thank you to Diane, Tonya, Cheryl, Vicky, and Alice for being such thoughtful and devoted caregivers. Calling hours will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00pm with Father David Merzweiler officiating. Cremation will follow the service. She will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Newton Falls.
