- Arthur J. McDonald, Jr., of Estero, Fla., formerly of Wakefield, Mass., died on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, in Reading, Mass., at the age of 78. He was born in Cambridge, Mass., on May 2, 1937, and was the son of the late Arthur J. McDonald and Hildur (Anderson) McDonald. Arthur was raised in Belmont and was a graduate of Belmont High School, class of 1955, and went on to graduate from Boston College in 1959.
Arthur was a retired owner at Scott & McDonald, Inc. of Boston. He was also the past president of the New England Asthma and Allergy Foundation. He was also a long time summer resident of Madison, and winter resident of Estero, Fla. Arthur was also a past member at Bear Hill Golf Club.
Arthur was the loving husband of Sue W. (Wright) McDonald. He was the loving father of Timothy A. McDonald of Maine, Julie M. Kelly and husband Edward of Lunenburg, and Craig McDonald and wife Prazeres of Reading. He was also the loving grandfather of Hunter and Sydney McDonald. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield, Mass., on Wednesday, July 8, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield, Mass.
