Adeline Francis Obituary

Adeline Louise Francis
SACO -- Adeline Louise Francis passed away early Wednesday morning, Aug. 23, 2006, at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on Dec. 3, 1934, in East Boston, Mass., the daughter of Fredrick and Doris (Swan) Fullerton. She moved to Maine when her children were young and called Saco her home for 39 years.
Adeline was a long time member of the New Life Fellowship of Biddeford. Additionally, a member of the Saco Grange. She was also very proud of her KOPS status for 19 years within the Saco TOPS organization.
Louise, as she was known by many, was a lobsterman's daughter and loved the water. She always saw the goodness in life even during very hard times. She cherished her family and modeled for them strength and determination in everything that she did, even in the last year of her life. She loved to travel and the standing family joke was if a possible trip was mentioned her bags were packed.
Louise was predeceased by her brother, Fredrick Sonny D. Fullerton; a daughter, Carol Bruce, her second husband, Howard W. Francis; and her parents, Fredrick and Doris (Swan) Fullerton.
She is survived by her seven children and their spouses, Richard C. (Jean) Bruce Jr. of Nashville, Tenn., Dolores (John) Polewarzyk of Limington, Virginia (Richard) Francis of Saco, Glen (Mary) Bruce, of Saco, Linda (Trino) Campos of E. Waterboro, Terry (Joseph) Couture of Saco, Brian (Linda) Bruce of Biddeford; two sisters, Doris I Ferrier of Danvers, Mass., and Helen (James) Feulo of Weymouth, Mass.; and three brothers, Willard (Evelyn) Fullerton of Bristol, N.H., Ronald (Suzanne) Fullerton of Beverly, Mass., Brian (Lorraine) Fullerton of Salem, Mass.; 12 grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be on Friday evening from 7-9 p.m., at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St. Saco. Additional visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9-11 a.m., a graveside service will follow at Scarborough Memorial Park on Old Blue Point Road. www.dcpate.com

Louise came into my life when I was a child. I was friends with her children and my sister Mary married her son, Glen. Louise was always kind to me and my family and I never heard her say a bad thing about anybody. She babysat Sarah + Danielle when they were young and I knew they were safe with her. We enjoyed camping with Louise. She loved being with her family and friends and she loved Glen taking her for a boat ride, the faster the better. We always had a great time. When I got ovarian cancer, I was very scared. Louise took the time to explain to me what to expect. I found great comfort in that. I asked my sister Mary how Louise could be so strong and not be afraid. Mary said it is because Louise has a strong religious faith, she is not afraid. That also helped me be strong and less afraid. Louise will be missed. She was an extraordinary lady. I hope her family finds comfort in their memories of this great woman.
