Hey Donald, got to go for a plane ride awhile back and of course I immediately thought of you. Hope you have sunny skies and fair winds flying up in Heaven. Russ Snyder

It is very difficult to understand that almost five years have come and gone since you were forced to leave us. As stated previously whenever I hear a private plane overhead I immediately think of you. You were taken much too early but I know you lived a full lifetime in your 58 years. See you in the clouds. Donald, it is difficult to see a plane without remembering you. Vividly etched in my memory was the day we went flying in your Gruman and watched the fight jets taking off and then climing perfectly vertical. You exhibited a dry wit which I greatly appreciated. I'm sure you know that your family is doing well but I also realize that a day does not slip past without their thinking of you. Love binds people forever. Russ Snyder

Miriam, how shocked I was today when I heard of your loss. I am so very sorry. Though I only met Donald a few times one of the most memorable moments was trusting him to get in the tiniest plane on earth and fly out over the Gulf of Mexico to your vacation spot on North Captiva! He was one of the happiest people on earth.

I was a classmate of Don's at Middlesex, as well as a fellow classics student. My fondest memories were of sitting around with our assignments, with penciled translations of Latin stuffed into the upper margins of our textbooks. Don would refer to the benefits of "belly wash", otherwise known as soda, deftly shooting flies out of the sky with rubber bands. I might have seen him buzz the football field at far too low a height with a wobble in his wings, but I'd never admit it. Truly a great person through and through, he is sorely missed. Here's to you, my friend.

Miriam - It's been years since I've seen you two. My memories of Don are drenched in humor. He was a delight to be around at the bank. His wry sense of humor, his love of flying, his passion for getting behind the numbers and understanding his analyses. This smile is one I'll always remember. My deepest sympathies to you and your girls.

I am very sorry for your loss. I think the first time I met Donald, many years ago, was when he showed up in a sea kayak quite far from land, and greeted us with his big smile while we were sailing on Penobscot Bay. He was such a wonderful person.
