Janet Dearborn
Judge, 72
BIDDEFORD -- Janet Dearborn Judge, 72, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Nov. 5, 2014, after a lengthy battle with kidney disease.
She was born on Feb. 25, 1942, to Donald Wayne and Ruth Selma (Milliken) Dearborn in Biddeford. She graduated from Biddeford High School in 1960, and later graduated from SMVTI with a degree in nursing.
On Sept. 23, 1961, she married Peter William Judge at St. Mary's Church in Biddeford. They were married 52 years. One of their fondest memories was celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends.
Janet had many hobbies and interests, all of which were often shared with others. She enjoyed gardening, agricultural fairs, horse shows, raising animals of all types, sewing, crafts, cooking, and countless other pursuits. Janet acquired her motorcycle license during retirement while living in Florida. She loved holidays and get-togethers with family and friends, all of whom have countless laughs, stories and memories to cherish.
She felt very fortunate and blessed to spend the summer months at Swan Pond, one of her favorite places, with her husband, children and grandchildren. Swimming to turtle log, participating in the annual bake off, teaching her grandchildren to cook, and making jelly filled her days. Her joy was most evident while enjoying family evening boat cruises around the pond, listening to the loons' songs.
She is survived by her loving husband, Peter Judge of Biddeford; one son, Stephen Judge and his wife Crystal (Hussey) of Lebanon, Conn., two daughters, Jayne and her husband Roy Sheltra of Biddeford, and Peggy and her husband Leo Flynn of Saco; 10 grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; siblings, Jere Dearborn and wife Sally, Joan Susi, and Julia Dearborn; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A private family celebration of Janet's life will take place when summer returns. Janet would like you to remember her by giving your grandchildren an extra hug and by giving your pets an extra treat. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford.
