Pantaleone "Pat" Antrilli

Pantaleone "Pat" Antrilli, 99, of Wall, NJ, passed away on Sunday, December 1, in his home with his family by his side. He was born in Torricella Peligna, Italy to Domenico and Donata (DiMarino) Antrilli. Pat was married to Millie Antonelli in 1944, and they lived together in Devon, PA, before relocating to Brandywine Senior Living at Wall three years ago. Pat served in the United States Army during World War II. After the war, Pat took online courses in Horticulture and worked for fifty years as the gardener on the Merck family estate in Wayne, PA. In 1993, the estate was transformed into Chanticleer, a public garden. After Pat retired, he volunteered at the Devereux Foundation and worked in the greenhouse. He especially enjoyed teaching the children how to grow and tend plants. Pat was honored as Devereux's "Volunteer of the Year" in 1992. Pat's love of gardening continued when he moved into Brandywine. He became their Resident Gardener, and his green thumb provided flowers and vegetables for the residents and staff. Pat is survived by his wife of 69 years, Carmella "Millie" (Antonelli) Antrilli; two daughters and their husbands, Barbara and Norbert Walsh of Key Largo, FL., and Patti and William Cluver of Allentown, NJ; five grandchildren, Norbie Walsh, Jr. and his wife, Christin, Brian Walsh and his wife, Stephanie, Christopher Walsh, Kirsten Cluver, and Billy Cluver, Jr.; a great-grandson, Norbie Walsh, III; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am on Wednesday, December 4, at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 35 Old Eagle School Road, Stafford, PA. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 235 Matsonford Road, Conshohocken, PA. Memorial donations may be made to National Military Family Association on their website www.militaryfamily.org.
