Douglas Eugene Withrow

MANSFIELD, OH: Douglas Eugene Withrow, 59, of Mansfield, died Sunday, July 24, 2011 at his residence. Born August 22, 1951 in Loudonville, Ohio, he was the son of Elmer L. and Susie V. (Yocum) Withrow. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he attended First Wesleyan Church and was a member of the Johnny Appleseed Knife Club and the Oasis Club. He enjoyed collecting items from the Civil War, fishing, hunting and firearms.

He is survived by two sons, Dylan P. Withrow and John R. Withrow; two brothers, Robert Withrow of Maryland, and Gary Withrow; a sister, Elaine (David) Matz; a nephew, Eric Matz; and one niece, Amy Matz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Withrow.

Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2011 at First Wesleyan Church, 1908 Park Avenue West, Mansfield conducted by Pastor Keith Carlisle. Memorial contributions may be made to Dylan Withrow, 405 Plainview Road, Mansfield, Ohio 44907. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Douglas Eugene Withrow.

To Doug's friends and family,

I have not been in contact with Doug since about 1990. I moved to Colorado and we lost touch. I knew Doug in the 1970's and 80's, and lived with him briefly. I am saddened by this news and will miss him.
