Mark Milliron Obituary

Mark Edward Milliron

Belo Horizonte, Brazil - Mark Edward Milliron, 55, of Belo Horizonte, Brazil passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018. He was born on September 14, 1962 in Mansfield, Ohio and was one of seven children of Grant and Mary (Nell) Milliron.

Mark attended Shelby High School and decided shortly after that he wanted to experience life in the big city and moved to New York. It was in New York that he realized his love of antiques. He started working for a small antique shop before working for a large antique business, Howard Kaplan, an importer of antiques from Italy. In working for Howard Kaplan, Mark learned the larger side of the antique business and decided he wanted to own his own store so he moved to Los Angeles, California. He immediately began importing antiques from Brazil. After finding success on the west coast, he sold his business to move to Brazil. Brazil would become his home, where he built and reproduced furniture from the beautiful woods of Brazil to have imported back to the States. Throughout his years lived in Brazil, he fell in love with the Brazilian culture and knew he could make a real difference there. Mark shared his success with the community and with his desire to give to the needy, he developed a passion for restoring state-run elder care facilities.

Mark had a zest for life and an infectious smile and laugh that drew people to him. He had a true love for his family and his family looked forward to his visits. His family and friends will remember him for his successful entrepreneurial skills, beautiful artisan creations, and philanthropy towards others.

Mark is survived by his parents, Grant and Mary Milliron; siblings, Cyndy Hursh, Karen (Steve) Kleer, Grant Jr. (Teresa) Milliron, Marsha (Jeff) DeVito, Karl (Jill) Milliron and Kate (Ken) Hlad; nieces and nephews, Ben (Kelly), Rachael (George), Adam, Aaron, Kristi (Dan), Angie (Mick), Jessica (Nate), Simon (Serena), Emma and Chloe; great nieces and nephews, Grant, Greta, George, Faith, Reese, Austin, Lauren, Felicia, Gwen and Lydia; and business partner, Arcesio Gonzaga.

The Milliron family will be having a private Celebration of Mark's life. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the Milliron family.

To the Milliron family: Nancy and I are deeply saddened by the news of Mark's passing . We all met through business and enjoyed good times in Atlanta and High Point. Some 9 years ago we spent almost two weeks with Mark and Arsecio in Brazil. Many fond memories. Luckily we have a beautiful table Mark made for us which proudly stands in our living room. Our prayers are with you during this awful time. I do not have Arsecio's address but if you would please forward my email [email protected] to him. Thanks Tony Miller

After meeting through church as children, I had the great privilege of becoming Marks friend. And I think back on how he had such a presence - his eyes lit up with joy, his smile was infectious, and his laugh was something I always looked forward to. People always wanted to be near him. Visits to the Milliron home were warm and welcoming, with many memories made. Sending my deepest sympathies to all, for the loss of a beloved member of your family. You will be in my prayers, and fond memories of my dear friend will be in my thoughts. Warmly, Beth (Poffenbaugh) Avila
