David Herbert

David Herbert David Byron Herbert of San Anselmo, passed away on April 10th, 2006 in Rancho Mirage, California. He was 79. Born in San Francisco on August 23rd, 1926, he was raised by his parents, Roland and Peggy Herbert in the City, where he attended Lowell High School. After serving in the Navy, David attended the College of Marin where he was honored as an All-State Basketball player. David worked his entire career for Rawson Drugs and Sundries Company of Emeryville and San Leandro, starting as a truck driver and retiring as Vice President and partner in the company. David was an avid golfer for his entire adult life. He was a member of the Marin Country Club and the Oasis Country Club in Palm Desert, California. During his life he won many golf tournaments and received countless honors for his accomplishments. David is survived by his wife, Edna of San Anselmo, his sons, Brad Herbert of Tucson, Arizona and Rick Herbert of Santa Rosa. He also leaves behind a brother, Richard Herbert of Novato, a sister, Janet Back of Petaluma, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. At David's request, no formal memorial or services will be performed. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
