Veronica Hall Obituary

Veronica Catherine Hall February 13, 1913 - December 2005 Veronica was born on February 13, 1913 to Patrick and Mary (Lavelle) Tierney, both of county Galway, Ireland and was raised in San Francisco. She attended the Immaculate Conception High School, from where she graduated in 1931. That same year she and her family moved from San Francisco to Marin County. During this time, Veronica was employed by Union Oil of California in San Francisco and commuted daily from Marin to San Francisco by ferry boat. She married Francis Stanton Hall on February 19, 1949 and remained devoted to him until his death in 1997. They moved to the town of Sonoma where they raised their three children and, after 12 years, relocated back to Marin County. As a younger woman, Veronica enjoyed horseback riding and folk dancing. In her later years Veronica and Francis were avid lawn bowlers and were members of the Lawn Bowling Association of San Francisco. In addition, she was a member of St. Francis Solano Mother's Club. Her volunteer work spanned decades and included working at the St. Anselm's Rummage Rack and St. Vincent De Paul's Kitchen in San Rafael. Veronica is survived by her children Mary Margaret Hall, Catherine Ann Hall and James Edwin Hall and his wife, Pat. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Robert Hall, Megan Hall and Fiona Hall-Roulac; two nieces: Bonnie Orendorff-Fray and Maria Orendorff-Giessler, and a nephew, James Peter Orendorff, and her devoted caregiver, Erleah Limbaga. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, December 6, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anselm's Catholic Church, San Anselmo. A Visitation will be on Monday, December 5, 2005, at Keaton's Mortuary, 1022 E Street, San Rafael, CA from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil being said at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Hospice of Marin, Sir Francis Drake Blvd., Larkspur, CA.
