Robert Lee "Bob" Marks Jr.

CEDARVILLE, MI: Robert Lee "Bob" Marks Jr., 72, of Cedarville, MI, died on May 12, 2017, at his lake side home. He was born on October 13, 1944, in Marion, OH, to Robert Lee and Orpha Louise (Freeman) Marks.

Bob grew up in Marion and graduated from River Valley High School in 1963. He then served in the United States Navy for 4 years on the Lake Champlain CV-39. Upon his return he took the maintenance tech program through Whirlpool. He married Helen Robinson on July 17, 1976, in Marion. They then moved to Cedarville in 1981 and he began working for Hoover and he retired after 33 years.

Bob was a member of the Les Cheneaux Sportsman's Club and served as President for 15 years.

Bob loved fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, swimming, and skiing. He was a prankster at heart and enjoyed anytime with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his wife, Helen Marks; daughter, Shawn (Jeff Smith) Marks of Hillman, MI; son, Todd (Tanya Robson) Marks of Marion, OH; grandchildren, Ashley (Tim) Severns, Amber (Randy) Bawks, Trent (KC) Pitko, Tyler Pitko, Cory Marks, Tabitha (Brian Foster) Whitker, Nicole Whitaker; great-grandchildren, Landon and Hudson Severns, Kaden and Braston Marks, Vanessa Pitko, Cooper and Spencer Pitko, Madison Whitaker, Jordan Samples, and Corbyn Sheber; sister-in-law, Ginny (Larry) Whitaker of Marion; brothers-in-law, Charles (Karen) Robinson of Lima, OH, and Harley (Vicki) Robinson of Harrisville, MI; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janice (William) McBride; and sister-in-law, Carolyn (Charles) Prater.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on May 19, 2017, from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 P.M. at Fite Memorial Baptist Church, 497 Davids St, Marion, OH 43302. Memorial Service will begin at 1:00 P.M.
