Rehlinger, Lavern J.

Lavern J. Rehlinger, 86 years old, of Mayville, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Matthews of Horicon in Horicon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 17 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mayville, with Rev. Father Tom Biersack presiding. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the St. Mary Catholic Church, Mayville. Burial will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Mayville. Graveside military honors will be conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post #69.

Lavern was born on March 4, 1928, to Henry and Anna (Wunsch) Rehlinger in Rozellville, WI. He was a 1946 graduate of Marshfield High School. He was united in marriage to Lorraine Pongratz on November 25, 1954 in Rozellville, WI. Lavern was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served from 1950-1952. He was retired from the Chrysler Corporation. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville, where he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Lavern was also a member of the Mayville American Legion Post #69. In his spare time Lavern enjoyed carpentry, fishing, and traveling. He will be fondly remembered as a loving father and grandfather.

Lavern is survived by his children, Joan (Jon) Meinhardt of Menomonee Falls; Michael (Tammy) Rehlinger of Germantown; Jane (Chris) Zimmerman of Pewaukee; Roger (Laura) Rehlinger of Brownsville; and son in law- John Tischendorf of Kewaskum; his special friend, Joan Bachhuber of Mayville; his grandchildren, Nathan Meinhardt, Dr. Adam Meinhardt, Trisha (Jake) Jankowski, Tyler (Shannon) Rehlinger, Michael Dieckelman, Lisa Zimmerman, Alex Tischendorf, Dylan Tischendorf, Zach Dittberner, Ryan Dittberner, and Cherie Rehlinger; his great-grandchildren, Connor Rehlinger and Chase Jankowski; his brother, Charles (Lillian) Rehlinger of Marshfield; his 3 sisters, Margaret Weigel of Marshfield; Marilyn (David) Fehrenbach of Marshfield; and Darlene (Richard) Linquist of Newman, GA.; his sister-in law, Carol (Jerry) Spindler of Stratford, WI. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by; his parents; his wife Lorraine, daughter, Nancy, son, Matthew, and 3 brothers, Sylvester, Norman, and Mark.
