Mary was born on May 18, 1924 in the Town of McMillan, Marathon County, (area known as "Weigelsdorf") to Lorenz and Katie (Rittinger) Weigel. She attended St. John's Parochial School, Marshfield, and was a 1941 graduate of Marshfield High School. She married George M. Bohman, Jr. on June 20, 1944 and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 20, 1994. George died on February 16, 1996.

After George passed away she moved to Marshfield to be closer to her daughters. In her free time she enjoyed watching birds and other wildlife. While the family was growing up she would make special embroidered keepsakes for the children. She loved every minute she could spend with her grandchildren.

She is also survived by grandchildren, Shawn, Matt, and Haley Bohman and Dan and Nancy Salzwedel and great grandchildren, Bri and Kaeli Bohman. She is further survived by sisters-in-law, Florence Weigel, Imelda Bauer, Betty Bohman, Mary Pongratz, and Rita Brown and a brother-in-law, Andrew Reif.
