Lee R. Bergstresser
Lee R. Bergstresser, 81, of Palmer Township, died Friday, February 16, 2007, at Easton Hospital, Wilson. He was the husband of Joan H. (Hudson) Bergstresser. Born in Hellertown on May 11, 1925, he was the son of the late Stanley E. and Florence S. (Grube) Bergstresser. Lee was a graduate of Lehigh University with a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. Subsequently, he earned a Professional Engineers License from the state of Pennsylvania. He worked for Honeywell for 11 years in Philadelphia and then for Ingersoll Rand, Phillipsburg, N.J., for 33 years until retiring. Lee served his country honorably during World War II in the Navy, serving on Aircraft Carrier Franklin D. Roosevelt at wars end. He was a member of Palmer Twp. Moravian Church. Survivors: Loving wife of 48 years; two sons, Cliff P. and his wife M.J. of Damascus, Md., Gary R. and his wife Janet of Charlotte, N.C.; two daughters, Lisa R., wife of Craig Wilcox of Easton, Lauren A., wife of Jeffrey Sysko of Berlin, Md.; brother, Ray M. and his wife Elizabeth of Wyomissing; nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Neal G. Services: Family and friends are invited to call 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown, followed by the service at 2 p.m. Monday. Private interment with military honors will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmanfh.com.
