Flynn Epps Obituary
October 21, 1940 - October 18, 2023
Merced, California - Flynn Alan Epps was born in Merced, Ca. on 10-21-40. He was the son of Warren "Doc" Epps and Donnis "Donnie" Tiscornia Epps. Older brother to Jon Epps. Winkie, as we all knew him by was raised in Merced, attending local schools and graduated from Merced High School. After a long battle with pneumonia, Winkie passed away on 10-18-23, 3 days short of his 83rd birthday.
Winkie was a heavy equipment operator and truck driver most of his adult life. Co-owning his own trucking company E+C Trucking. He also worked and retired from Pepsi in Merced. Winkie was a real outdoorsman. He enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, fishing and had a passion for gardening, especially flowers and making beautiful flower arrangements. He spent many hours alongside his dad Doc, family and friends at the "Potholes" making it a memorable place for all.
Winkie leaves behind his mother Donnie Epps, Brother Jon Epps, a daughter Jan Marie Wong, 4 stepchildren Bill, Mike, Joe Pratt and Laurie Armstrong. His nephew Doug Epps and niece Amy Epps Martin. He has 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 4 great nephews, and 1 great niece. Winkie was preceded in death by his father Doc Epps and wife Janice Epps.
Winkie, Rest in Peace
There will be a graveside service on 11-6-23 @ 9 a.m. at the Merced District Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Stratford Evans Funeral Home.

Mr. Epps was a great friend of mine. I´m am so saddened by his loss. He too brought me a great dried flower arrangement and he was always so kind and pleasant. I visited he and Jan often and he visited me at the law firm to check on his case. I did my best for Mr. Epps. I will never forget him. Last I talked to him was in October. Hoping to see him soon. Good bye Mr. Epps aka Winkie! Loved and missed. God bless to the family.

Will miss seeing Winkie. He was always nice and patient when he would come to the office. Still have the dried flowers he bought to me . Through all his health issues never heard him fuss about them he just seemed to take it in stride. Condolences to his family .

Will always treasure the memories that I shared with Winkie and the many friends that surround him. May he now rest in peace with his dad and many family members that have passed. One of my fondest memories is making raviolis at the Epps home and Mrs. Epps said look, an Arkie and an Okie, being me and Doc making Italian raviolis. They were the best. My love and my prayers to the Epps family.
