Jacquelyn Burrows

1944 - 2025

Jacquelyn Lee Burrows, of Woodbridge, CA, left all of us on October 26, 2025, at the age of 81. Jackie, born on March 15, 1944, in Logansport, IN, was the first of 4 children of her loving parents, Merle and Dolores Gibbs. After growing up in Fort Worth, TX, she moved to Merced, CA, in the early 1960s, where, in the late 1980s, she met the love of her life, Wayne Gibbs Burrows. They made their first home there before spending several years in Alabama in the 1990s. They headed back west and settled in Woodbridge to be close to family. Jackie dubbed herself 'the fun grandma'. She rarely missed a sporting event or academic recognition, always supporting her grandchildren. Jackie is loved by so many and seems to make and keep a 'best friend' at every phase of her life. Her daughter, Kelle, and her daughter-in-law, Cristy, consider her not just a 'mom' but also a confidant. Jackie, proud and strong, is a survivor from the polio epidemic, contracting it in 1948 and spending a year of her life in the Shriners Hospital for Children in Texas. Her abdominal muscles were damaged from the polio, but she never complained. Jackie held herself confidently and shone with her 'zest for life'. SHE SPARKLED. Jackie, a bridge player and a book clubber, enjoyed social activities, a vodka or a glass of wine, and staying connected to those she loved through long phone conversations. Jackie is preceded by her loving husband, Wayne. Jackie is survived by her siblings, Mike Gibbs, Patt (Steve) Kozicky, and Bob (Tracy) Gibbs, son, Craig (Cristy) Hunter, daughter, Kelle Huston, step-daughters, Michelle (John) Hampton and Amy (Dan) Wells, and 11 grandchildren: Clark (Jaydin) Hunter, Corbett Hunter, Carly Hunter, Nicholas Durant, Jahmi Huston, Ahbi Huston, Nyjah Huston, Kiade Huston, Isha Huston, Lauren (Kory) Farmer, Caitlyn Hampton (Sreyas Sankar), Daniel T. (Savannah) Wells, and Christopher (Gracie) Wells. Jackie is also blessed with 11 great-grandchildren. Jackie's celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 (10:30 a.m.) at Lodi Funeral Home, followed by a continued tribute at Woodbridge Golf & Country Club (12:00 p.m.), along with a Dove release (2:00 p.m.).
