Samuel Cornell Obituary
November 28, 1924 - March 29, 2016
Sam Cornell died peacefully at home in the care and love of his family in Maple Valley, WA. Sam was born to Sheriff N. Lucius and Pauline Cornell in Merced, CA where he lived until enlisting in the army. As a European theater combat soldier in the 1st army 16th infantry, Sergeant Cornell fought bravely thru France, Belgium, Germany and into Czechoslovakia receiving a Presidental Unit Citation, Bronze Star, and numerous battle stars. After his return Sam attended the University of San Francisco where he met Mary Stilwell who was studying at Lone Mountain College. They were married December 29, 1949 and raised seven chrildren. Sam is survived by his wife Mary, seven children, ten grand chrildren and four great grand children who are thanking God for the life and love of this wonderful man.
