Dr. Daniel Herman Schulte, born August 3, 1929 passed away at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View December 10th, 2006. He leaves his wife of 51 years, Sue Ellen Schulte, and a son, Dr. Robert Schulte (wife Bettina) of Scottsdale and daughter, Marta Schulte. His son, Aden Bengt predeceased him. Grandchildren include Ariana, Scott, Erin and Jack Schulte. Daniel was the first person in his family to attend college and finished with a PhD in Astronomy from the University of Chicago in 1958. In the Bay Area since 1981, Daniel was a Lockheed Scientist, contributing to the troubleshooting of the Hubble Space Telescope, making many trips to Huntsville Alabama with a repair team before his retirement in 1994. He had a deep love of music, playing the trombone in symphonies in Palo Alto, CA and Concord, MA. He enjoyed animals and trips to the beach with their trusty dog Ashley.Memorial services were held at Spangler Mortuary, 799 Castro St., Mtn. View, CA on Saturday, December 16 at 3:00 pm.
