To the family: May the comfort from family and friends continue to strengthen you, and may you find comfort in the words found in the Holy Scriptures: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.
The former things have passed away."

I first met Dave when he moved in with my brother in '79. That would put me at about 16 at the time and it impressed me that he was a paramedic and had such an exciting life. I knew he was special the moment I met him and I looked up to him a great deal. He had such a good sense of humor and was like a big brother to me. Needless to say he quickly became part of our family. I saw him again last year after not having seen him for many years and it was good to see that he hadn't changed a bit. It was a pleasure to introduce him to my 6 year old son. He was still the wonderful person that I remembered from my youth. He will truly be missed.

Hi Uncle Davie! Although I met you only twice, I enjoyed your silly antics and the way you cooked for the family. John and I will miss you a lot. Know that your spirit was fully present with the whole Aguilar family during your funeral and may it continue to live on in us. I really admired you not only for service to the community on the police force, but also for your willingness to help out family in need, and to travel the world at a moment's notice and really show people what living an adventurous life was about. You showed us really how we all should live, not just in speaking but in action. Thanks!
Also, you have left behind an AMAZING woman-Terry Aguilar, but she lives on to share your stories and qualities with all of us as well as inspire the world around her. I acknowledge her for her sheer strength and loyalty to you in sickness and in health. What a blessed woman. God bless you and your family Davie & Terry!
Davie, were you and God watching the Super Bowl or something?! YEAH-GO COLTS!

I met Dave 33 years ago while working at Circle City Glass. He came to work there after returning from the Air Force. We soon became best of friends and always had a great time together. When Dave was around, everyone had fun!! His sense of humor was second to none and his zeal for life contagous, with high energy levels that were uplifting. Although he moved away, whenever he visited it was as if he never left. We resumed where we left off, always joking and laughing together. By knowing Dave, I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know his family. What an awesome and loving group that always have time for each other. Behind every good man is a good woman, and his mother Rita is that person. She made sure Dave and all his siblings were raised to respect others and display a high level of dignity. A+ on all counts! They consider me a brother and that means the world to me. The funeral ceremony was awe inspiring, from the testimony of each family member, the police tribute, the 21 gun salute and the bagpipes playing "Amazing Grace". Never before has my lovely wife Kim or myself experienced such an emotionally draining service. We discussed it all the way home. It made a long lasting impression, one that brought us closer to Dave and the family, and we gained insight to his California life, family, and friends. Dave, we may be separated by death, but our reunion is only a heart beat away. God bless. Rest in peace, Dude Boy, you deserve it.

I worked with Dave at IBM in the security department 1997-1999. He was a good guy. I remember the first time I found out that he was a reserve with SJPD, was when I ran into him and his partner Dave Aguilar in 7-11. I loved that they both had the same name and could only imagine what they could do with that.
RIP Dave. God bless your family.

Dear Terry and the entire Aguilar family, my thoughts and prayers go out to all of you at this time. Dave was so special to so many people, because of the way he chose to live his life, putting others first and racing against time to experience all that life had to offer. Dave carried himself with honor and dignity and made an impact that never could have been expected and clearly one that will be impossible to forget. Dave lived a life so short, but a life that was so loved. God's comfort and blessings to all of you!

To Dave’s family and friends,
It was truly an honor and a pleasure to know Dave, to work with him at IBM, and to be his friend out side of the job. As we all came to know that Dave’s sense of humor was very unique and sometimes misunderstood. His stories seemed too unbelievable, but when you got to know him, you realized the truth. He was an amazing person as you can tell from all the stories from friends and co-workers. Last year I invited Dave over my house for a Playoff BBQ. He brought his brother John and Terri, and there were lots of other friends and co-workers there, but out of all that attended my wife Ann remembered him the most. Dave had a way of standing out in a crowd. Unfortunately his Colts lost last year, but I feel this is their year! I plan to cheer for them and know Dave will truly “be in heaven”!
I will miss you my friend. I thank you for all the lives you have touched across the world and for making me appreciate life a little more.

Words cannot express how fortunate I am to know and love this man. Not only have I been blessed to have him as a brother-in-law, but he was also like a brother to me throughout the years. David, you treated Roman and Stphanie like they were your own, and they love and respect you so much. The memories of you and the laughter we all shared as a family are priceless. The adventures and fun trips are a treasure that we will always remember. Those memories are priceless and they can never be taken away from us.
God speed brother, and be easy on the Lord and don't boss him around too much!! Bless you David, you will truly be missed.

Aunt Terry and my hero Uncle Dave,
Words cannot even express my rush of emotions that I have had these last few days. It just doesn't seem real. I am happy that he no longer has to suffer but I cry that I will not be able to see him again, only in my dreams and memory. Lord knows I have plenty of memories with Uncle Dave. He was such a wonderful, guy and it shows with all the respect that he is getting. I plan on doing just what he preached to me when he drove me to the airport in Sept '06.. "Little Steph, you can have the world girl.. reach for the sky but keep your feet on the ground, make good decisions and your opportunites are endless." Aunt Terry I love you and thank you for being so wonderful to my Uncle. He can now watch over all of us.

Dear Uncle and Aunt Terry,
How my thoughts and prayers are with you both. This has truly been a hard event to accept. Considering all of the wonderful stories and memories I have of our times together It seems like a bad dream. But I feel warm and conforted knowing uncle is safe and healed in God's hands. And too know he walks along side me now wherever I go for strength and advice. I long to go to sleep so I can see him in my dreams on our vacations and adventures together. I think of our trips to Europe and Costa Rica and I relive them over and over in my mind. I love You and miss you. Goodnight for now.

Dave was a good friend and a hearty person who will always live in the hearts of the Gang in Singapore. We managed Europe in a car and had such a glorious time thanks to Dave. Luck would have it that a couple of days from his passing; the Gang had a teleconference with Dave thanks to Terry, his wonderful wife. We recollected the good times and relived the moments again. Even then, Dave was keen on travelling and said he will travel lying down since he was unable to walk and we can make travel plans again as a group. The Gang knew him well and assured him that it will be done as he wishes. The Gang misses him and our love for Dave will never ever be replaced; for we have not come across such a wonderful and good friend. Until Eternity do us apart.

Dear Terry and the Aguilar Family,
Our deepest sympathy in your personal loss of husband, son, brother, father, uncle and friend. You and the family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Greg remembers that he worked with Dave on the 1989 earthquake relief effort that IBM contibuted to assist. They all caravaned up to Summit Rd. and delivered generators, sleeping bags, tarps, tools, etc. to anyone in need. Dave was in charge of the effort and gave each response team about $1200 in cash to distribute to those in need, no questions asked. This is such a great story about the kind of man Dave was.
Our love to you, Greg and Wanda Seaton

It was so great to see Dave on the cruise last year! It sounds like he tackled his illness the same way he lived his life...with a positive, loving and light-hearted spirit. He was a fun guy to work with in security at IBM and though he will be missed, I'm pretty sure that spirit of his will stick around with all of us who knew him. When I heard the news of his death, I pulled out my souvenir light-up glass from the Ensenada cruise and drank a toast to the man. Thanks for the good memories Dave, and may your Colts bring home the trophy at the show! Godspeed!
