Irene Taclindo Gregorio

GREGORIO, Irene Taclindo -- March 9, 1929 - October 9, 2003. Lost her battle with lymphoma on October 9, 2003. Born in Paia, Maui, Irene married Rustico Francisco Gregorio in 1944 at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. They spent most of their married life in California-San Francisco, Santa Clara, Milpitas and Brentwood. Irene attended San Jose City College and completed her Associated Arts Degree after raising five children and while working as a Medical Secretary at O'Connor Hospital in San Jose, CA. She retired after 25 years of service there. Irene was also very active in community organizations such as the Filipino Circle Club of Fremont, Bohol Circle of Alameda, and the Independent Order of Foresters in Stockton, Legionarios del Trabajo in America. Irene and her husband "George" often ventured to Reno, Nevada where she loved the one-armed bandits and was often lucky enough to hit a few big ones, especially at her favored Flamingo Hilton Hotel. In addition to traveling, Irene also loved to cook and entertain. The Gregorio household was always a popular meeting place for numerous family and extended family events with Irene serving as a gracious and hospitable hostess. She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Rustico Gregorio; son, Richard Gregorio of Annandale, VA; daughter, Sheilah Hendrickson of Pleasanton, CA; son, Eugene Gregorio of Arlington, TX; daughter, Cheryl Endres of West Point, NY; daughter, Brenda Kiba of Brentwood, CA. She also has eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Visitation and viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2003 from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Funeral Service on Wednesday, October 15, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. all at the LIMA FAMILY CEDAR LAWN MORTUARY, 48800 Warm Springs Blvd., Fremont, CA. Interment to follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial park, Fremont.
