Jenny Yanez-Pastor
A loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Monday, Aug. 7, 2006. after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Born in 1929 in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Jenny became a proud U.S. citizen in 1994. She is survived by her husband, Julio, her three children, Bernie, John and Jennifer, her six grandchildren, Nick, Camille, Jillian, Daniel, William and Illeana, and her three sisters, Gladys Gomez, Edith Ynsua-Thompson and Piedad Coppola di Canzano. Jenny was a successful entrepreneur and enjoyed acting, dancing and reciting poetry; but what she loved most was being a mother. She was admired by all who knew her for her remarkable strength and unwavering optimism. Her smile really could light up a room. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, Aug. 18 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Los Gatos. In lieu of flowers, donations to one of the following charities would be appreciated: Samaritan House in San Mateo www.samaritanhouse.com, YES Reading in Menlo Park, www.yesreading.org or St. Mary's Church in Los Gatos.
