Lui Fong Obituary

Lui Fong Dec. 3, 1914 - Jan. 7, 2006

Lui Fong entered into rest peacefully in Oakland, CA and was preceded in death by his first wife Regina Tsang Fong and his son.

He will be forever cherished by his family: Mary Fong , his wife of 22 years, loving daughter Ann Wu, devoted son-in-law Lin Wu, granddaughter Amberlin Wu, grandson David Wu, granddaughter in law, Mona Wu, and great-granddaugh-ter Kaylie.

Lui, who was a poet, writer, scholar and masterful strategist, was born in Chaozhou, China and graduated with honors from the prestigious Huangpu Military Academy otherwise known as the West Point of China. This led him to a military career as the youngest general in the Nationalist Chinese army and he was the last surviving general of his class. Subsequent years were spent in Thailand as a diplomat with the Chinese Embassy.

Fong led an exemplary life and excelled in calligraphy, herbal healing, tai-chi, and dedicated his time to helpful compassionate aid to his friends with his healing and artistic gifts. He will be remembered forever by the fortunate who were touched by his presence.

A celebration of his life will be held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, Jan., 13, 2006 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Los Altos, California. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be sent to the Blossom Project for Single Mothers, Community Health Awareness Council, 731 Church St., Mtn. View, CA 94041. www.chacmv.org.
