Patricia E. Edmunds

Resident of Sutter Creek, CA

Passed away Friday, August 20, 2010, in Sutter Creek, CA at the age of 92 years. She was born October 7, 1917, to F C and Aileen (Galligan) Davis in Butte, MT. Patricia met James Edmunds at the University of Nevada where they were both students. He was working on his engineering degree and she a teaching degree. Patricia went on to receive a master's in special education. The couple married on July 7, 1941 in Reno, NV. The newlyweds lived in Belmont, CA and Patricia worked for the Belmont School District. She was a dedicated teacher creating an individual lesson plan for every student.

Patricia moved to Amador County eight years ago to be closer to her son. She loved to laugh, was very energetic, an avid walker, and attended mass every day. Patricia was a child of the depression and knew the importance of volunteerism. She volunteered at a thrift store in Belmont, CA and the Interfaith Food Bank in Jackson, CA.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Patti Edmunds of Pioneer; grandchildren, Jim, Lisa, Shanda, Miranda, Bree, and Noah; great-grandchildren, Amber, Dillon, and Erin. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, James Eugene Edmunds in 1986 and granddaughter, Alisa in 1973.

At the family's request there will be no services. Inurnment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Society of Northern California, P.O. Box 1824, Sacramento, CA 95812.
