Robert Ballard Obituary

Robert Lee Ballard Entered into rest on Nov. 29, 2007. He was a longtime resident of Santa Clara and a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Age 88, born Nov. 16, 1919 in Waterford, CA. He was a graduate of Oakdale High School and a World War II veteran. Bob enjoyed the outdoors, his vegetable garden, deer hunting and fishing, his beautiful '29 Model A Ford and family life.He worked at Westinghouse in Emeryville and Sunnyvale as an industrial engineer for 43 years. He was a member of the Santa Clara Men's League, S.C. Valley Model A Ford Club and a past member of SIRS. Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Jeanette. He is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Sue and Mike Rewak of Washington state, and Shelley and Paul Milazzo of San Jose. He leaves five grandchildren, Karie Dostert, Scott Rewak, Mary, Valerie and Lisa Milazzo. He is also survived by great grandchildren Bryce, Georgia, Lorelei, Dustin, Brittany and Dillon. He leaves a loving sister Ann Marty, many nieces and nephews and other family. A memorial will be held at the Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, St. Clare Chapel, 490 Lincoln St., Santa Clara on Friday, Dec. 28, 2007 at 12 noon. A luncheon will follow. Donations can be made in Bob's name to the Palo Alto Veteran's Hospital, Volunteer Services, 3801 Miranda Ave. Palo Alto 94304.
