Resident of San Jose, California
After a lengthy battle with prostate cancer, Ted is finally at rest. He died peacefully on July 19, 2022. Ted was born in Dallas, Texas and moved with his family several times, spending time in the Kansas City suburb of Overland Park; Glenn Ellyn, Illinois; and finally moving to Sunnyvale at the age of 10. He's called Santa Clara County home ever since. Ted's earliest job was as a ice rink skating attendant, where he was a jack of all trades, sharpening skates, tending the counter and actually skate guarding on the ice. He soon found his passion as a metal machinist, at which he worked for 30 years until machine setup and operation became automated. His subsequent search for rewarding work found him working at the Pool Guys in Saratoga where he enjoyed working with the customers and and pool maintenance crew to fulfill their needs and help resolve problems. Although he claimed to be a loaner, Ted, having a low key, easy going demeanor, seemed to be rather outgoing. He was kind and got along with everyone. Ted is survived by his son, Matthew Kaupert, brothers Art Kaupert and Peter Kaupert and his sister Alison Ashworth. Ted will be missed by all of us.

My most beloved friend and confidant for nearly 30 years, I miss you very much, I wish we would have gotten more time together. I love you, this place will never be the same without you, and if there is any fairness and creation we will see each other in the next place. Until I see you again, you are in my heart and soul. Butterflies are free like you used to always say, now so are you. Save a place for me, I will never stop missing you.
