Anthony Anzalone Obituary

Anthony P. Anzalone, Jr., 73, of Bellingham, MA passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 50 years of Irene L. (Falcone) Anzalone. Born in Boston, MA on August 28, 1938, he was the son of the late Anthony P. and Josephine (Zappula), Sr. He was the loving father of Anthony Anzalone of Gorham, ME, Robert J. Anzalone of Bellingham, MA, Linda M. Littlewood and her husband, Chip of Gardner, MA, Gina L. Mara and her husband, Stephen of Gardener, MA, and Lori A. LaVine and her husband, David of Valley Center, CA. He leaves his cherished grandchildren, Derick Mara, Nicholas Anzalone, Jacquelyn Mara, Sienna LaVine, Jessica Yonkers, Chris Littlewood, and great-grandchildren, Tyler and Savannah Yonkers. He was the brother of Josephine Sendeck of Las Vegas, NV and the late Richard Anzalone. A resident of Bellingham for 46 years, formerly of Malden and East Boston where he was raised. He worked as a Material Controls Supervisor for 34 years at Polaroid in Norwood until retiring in 1996. Following retirement, he worked for EMC in Milford for 5 years and the Home Depot in Bellingham for 4 years. He served in the Air National Guard of Massachusetts and as a reserve of the Air Force, and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. He enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Four Most Squares of Bellingham, he enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Bungay Brook Golf League, he was an avid Red Sox Fan, and enjoyed camping in Maine. He was a communicant of St. Blaise Church. Devoted to his family, he will be greatly missed. Funeral will be held on Saturday, August 11th at 9:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Blaise Church, 1158 So. Main St., Bellingham. Visiting hours are on Friday, August 10th from 5:30 to 8:00PM at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial at the Union Cemetery, Bellingham will be private. Irene and family, our sincere condolences on the loss of Tony. Dennis was so grateful to have had an opportunity to talk with Tony recently. Wishing we could be there and provide a hug.
